On January 9th 2014, the commencement meeting and ceremony were held for the pet coke mill system project contracted on EPC basis by Sinoma Int. (Tianjin). This is a project of Shree Digvijay Cement Co., Ltd. which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Votorantim Group.
Representatives of four parties attended the project commencement meeting, including Sinoma Int. (Tianjin), the employer, the constructor, LNVT (Indian subsidiary of Sinoma Int.). The meeting was followed by a ceremony held in Indian way. Afterwards, civil construction team started such works as setting-out and excavation. The construction work thus began.
Located in Jamnagar, Gujrat, the project is about the replacement of the raw coal mill system with pet coke mill system. The project was contract by Sinoma Int. on EP basis in June 2013. The scope covered process and structure design and mechanical equipment supply. After the contract signature, the marketing department of Sinoma Int. actively communicated with Votorantim for the possibility of EPC contract. In August 2013, Votorantim finally decided to let Sinoma Int. and LNVT jointly execute the project on EPC basis. Renewed contract was signed.
The smooth commencement of the project started Sinoma Int.’s first trial of EPC business in India. It will help Sinoma Int. to gather experiences to expanding its EPC business in Indian market.
