On May 27th 2013, the cornerstone laying ceremony was held for Dangote Tanzania 6,000 t/d project. Tanzania President Piter Pinda, Mr. Aliko Dangote and Mr. Evg Edwin attended the ceremony.
Dangote project is highly valued by Tanzania government. The ceremony itself is a good example. And there is another example as well. On March 28th when the first shipment of goods arrived at the port, governmental officials like Minister of Transport and Industry Ministry and Mtwara state governor went there witnessing the shipment handover.
Dangote Industries Limited is the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa and one of the largest in Africa. In 2005, the company set up its strategy for its cement business, building eleven 6,000 t/d production lines and three 3,000 t/d lines. In 2011, Sinom Int. contracted three 6,000 t/d and three 3,000 t/d cement projects of Dangote. Tanzania project was one among them. The ceremony held on the day will be followed by the commencement of works at site.
